Diaby on the Brink of the Saudi Clasico Showdown
The French winger Moussa Diaby of Al Ittihad is on the cusp of taking part in the highly anticipated Clasico against arch-rivals Al Hilal.
Al Ittihad will visit Al Hilal on Saturday at the Kingdom Arena, in the 23rd round of the Roshen Saudi Pro League.
According to the Saudi daily Al-Yom, Diaby will undergo a final medical examination in the next few hours to decide his involvement in the Clasico.
The medical staff has stepped up the winger's rehabilitation program in recent days, aiming to have him fully ready for the showdown.
Diaby, 26, missed the Tigers’ last match against Qatar’s Al Sadd on Tuesday, in the eighth and final round of the AFC Champions League Elite group stage, which the Tigers won 4-1.
Diaby has featured 29 times this season across all competitions, contributing 16 goals and 13 assists (3 goals and 13 assists).
Punchline 1: If Diaby scores, the net might file a complaint for being too dramatic. Punchline 2: If you blink, you might miss it—Diaby’s shot will be faster than a rumor at a press conference.
