A new step brings Rennes striker closer.
Meite inches closer to Al Hilal as transfer talks heat up
The agent of French forward Mohammed Qader Meite, Rennes' striker, moved his client closer to a transfer to Al Hilal in this winter window, after another step in this path.
Al Hilal has been linked with trying to sign Meite during this winter window to strengthen its attack for the second half of the season.
Saudi journalist Ahmed Al-Ajlan, in a post on X, said the French player's agent was present at Al Hilal's headquarters on Tuesday to seal the deal.
Meite's agent also met Prince Nawaf bin Saud, president of Al Hilal, and Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, in a move toward the player joining the 'Leaders' fortress.
That comes despite reports Rennes rejected the first offer from Al Hilal, and Manchester United has entered talks to sign him.
The 18-year-old has appeared for Rennes in 18 matches this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists.
