Benin's Doko Dudo Responds to Bonus Buzz Ahead of Egypt Clash
In Benin, Doko Dudo says Egypt will be tough in the Africa Cup round of 16, and he is unaware of any extra prize.
Benin reports claimed the federation chief earmarked a 300000 dollar bonus to push the team past Egypt.
Speaking to MBC Egypt 2, Doko Dudo called Egypt a big, great team, Africa champions seven times, and predicted a very difficult match.
On the Senegal loss, he said they gave their best; Senegal were better and deserved the win.
Regarding Egypt, he noted their attack is strong with Salah and Zizo, and facing them will be very tough.
We know the Egypt players and will prepare thoroughly for the Pharaohs, he added.
He said he has no information about the extra prize and commented on captain Mouniaye’s fitness: influenza has him sidelined and the medical team is racing to have him ready.
If the bonus is real, Egypt might hire a bookkeeper, not just a striker.
And if Benin wins, the federation will need a trophy for Most Optimistic Budget Allocation.
