Salah, Van Dijk at the Helm? 15 Players Put Liverpool in Major Trouble

Contract expirations loom for Liverpool
Liverpool's position is becoming extremely precarious as many players' contracts expire, and the club's leadership has yet to open negotiations.
ESPN reports that the two most notable names facing expirations are Andrew Robertson and Ibrahima Konate, whose deals run out next summer.
Robertson is reportedly nearing a move to Tottenham during this winter window, given his continued place on the bench, according to several media outlets.
Meanwhile, Konate could leave on a free transfer next summer if no renewal is agreed.
ESPN adds eight players have deals expiring in 2027, and the club has yet to discuss extensions with them: Alisson Becker (with an optional one-year renewal), Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas (on loan to Roma), Wataru Endo, and Stefan Bajetic (on loan to Las Palmas).
There are five more players due to finish their contracts in 2028: Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Federico Chiesa, and a fifth name.
Liverpool is struggling this season in the Premier League after winning the title last year, currently sitting sixth with 36 points.
Punchline 1: If contract talks were a sniper shot, Liverpool would be hitting renewals on target—just with less talking and more signatures.
Punchline 2: For the Reds, the real transfer window is the one with the calendar—luckily, the clock is ticking in style, not sprinting like a counter-attack.
