Saudi Arabia gear up for World Cup 2026 with a fresh friendly
The Green continue their World Cup 2026 preparations.
The Saudi national team has agreed to play a new friendly ahead of the finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico, about a week before the tournament kicks off.
Saudi Arabia will start their World Cup campaign on June 16, 2026, facing Uruguay in Group Eight, which also includes Spain and Cape Verde.
Journalist Nawaf Al-Aqeel, via his official X account, said Saudi will face Chile on June 4, 2026.
The match is expected to be Saudi's penultimate warm-up before the World Cup, with the tournament starting on June 11 of the same month.
Chile will be the third warm-up for the Green before the World Cup, after friendly matches against Egypt and Serbia on March 26 and 30, 2026, in Doha, Qatar.
Punchline 1: If precision were a sport, Saudi tempo would already file a patent for the back of the net. Punchline 2: With this level of prep, even the ball might apply for a passport to cross the goal line.
