Tears in Doha: Yazan Al-Na'imat's Departure Shields a Shaky Jordan Run
Yazan Al-Na'imat exits the field in tears as Jordan’s Arab Cup campaign faces a setback.

Update

Jordan faced a hard blow in the Arab Cup quarterfinal against Iraq, 2025, held in Qatar.

Coach Jamal Al-Salami was forced to sub the talented Yazan Al-Na'imat after 14 minutes at the City of Education Stadium in Doha.

Yazan collapsed while dribbling in the Iraq penalty area, clutching his knee, received medical checks, and wished to continue but cried as he was carried off on a stretcher.

Awda Al-Fakhouri entered Jordan's lineup in place of Al-Na'imat after 14 minutes, launching an early Jordanian attack.

The Jordanians are expected to release injury details in the coming hours to determine his absence duration.

Al-Na'imat's name also links him to a January move to Egypt's Al-Ahly to strengthen their attack.

The Jordanian team had already topped their group with three straight wins over Kuwait, UAE, and Egypt.

Stay tuned.
