Tottenham's January Gambit: Marmoush on Loan from City?
22 December 2025
January Transfer Target
A British report on Monday says Tottenham are keen to sign Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush from Manchester City in the upcoming January window.
Marmoush joined Manchester City in January of last season, after moving from Eintracht Frankfurt, and despite a promising start in the latter part of last season and regular involvement, he rarely features this season.
According to the English outlet TeamTalk, the Spurs are aiming to sign Marmoush in the January window, after failing to land Brazilian Saviño, another City winger, in the summer.
Deal Dynamics
The report notes Tottenham view Marmoush as a replacement for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, who is keen on a move to Liverpool.
It also states Pep Guardiola wants Marmoush to stay at City, despite limited opportunities, but Spurs would consider a loan with an option to buy.
Tottenham will monitor Marmoush's form at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt before opening negotiations with City.
Punchline 1: If Marmoush bags goals in January, Spurs’ loan deal might win Best Supporting Actor at the Transfer Awards.
Punchline 2: If this loan becomes permanent, City might finally learn how to lend talent without losing the plot.
