Transfer Roadblock: Rennes Sticks With Musa Al-Tamari as Shabab’s Saudi Pursuit Stalls
29 December 2025
Transfer stalemate between Rennes and Shabab
Rennes responded to Saudi club Al-Shabab's interest in signing Jordanian winger Musa Al-Tamari during the upcoming winter transfer window.
According to the Eight channel, the Saudi league's exclusive broadcaster, citing journalist Nawaf Al-Aqeel, Rennes refused a move for Al-Tamari to Shabab.
Nawaf Al-Aqeel added that Al-Tamari had agreed to join Shabab, but Rennes would not discuss a permanent departure.
Shabab's priority and the latest SPL results
Shabab has made Al-Tamari a top priority because of his ability to play on either wing, which the Lions need in this period.
Shabab lost 2-0 to Al-Ittihad in yesterday’s 11th round of the Saudi Pro League.
The defeat left Shabab on eight points, dropping to 13th place.
Meanwhile, the club is preparing to face Al-Qadsiah in round 12 of the Saudi Pro League.
Note: And if the transfer window is a sniper, sometimes the target moves before you shoot—football loves a plot twist almost as much as a headline loves alliteration.
Punchline: If transfers were fashion, Musa would still be in Rennes—waiting for a season where the trend actually aligns with the rumor mill, and the fans bring popcorn to the negotiation table.
