Interim Manager Appointment
Michael Carrick has stepped in as Manchester United's interim coach, taking over from Ruben Amorim, dismissed after a string of poor results.
Fabrizio Romano, the transfer expert, said on Facebook that Carrick signed a short-term contract until the end of the season.
He will serve as caretaker manager through June, with Steve Holland set to assist.
Daily Mail reports the club will announce the move soon, naming Jonathan Woodgate and Jonny Evans as part of the staff.
United's first game under Carrick is against Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday in the Premier League.
