Inter-Napoli 2-2 thriller seals a point at Meazza
The 2-2 draw between Inter Milan and Napoli closed the weekend clash at Giuseppe Meazza in the 20th round of Serie A.
Both sides took a point, keeping the title race alive as Inter moved to 43 points on top and Napoli stayed on 39 in third.
Inter led twice through Federico Dimarco and Hakan Calhanoglu, but Napoli equalized on both occasions through their standout Scot McTominay, who scored twice.
Opta notes that since returning to Inter in the 2021-22 season, Federico Dimarco is the defender with the most goals in Serie A, at 19.
It adds that he surpassed Theo Hernandez and Denzel Dumfries, both on 18, in the process.
As for McTominay, Opta states Inter are the first side he has scored against in three different Serie A matches.
Additionally, the Scotsman has the most goals in the competition against Inter, with 3, tied with Torino.
The result leaves the title chase open, with Inter on 43 and Napoli on 39, intensifying the race.
Punchline 1: If football were a calculator, this 2-2 would be its default setting—two goals, no winner, and a lot of digit-dance.
Punchline 2: They say the only thing harder than winning is keeping a clean sheet; tonight’s lesson: two teams, zero decisive verdict, and a whole lot of fans smiling anyway.
