Match recap
Luis Enrique, PSG's head coach, spoke with striking candor about his team's victory in the French Super Cup.
PSG lifted the trophy on penalties after the match ended 2-2 with a late goal scored by Portuguese forward Goncalo Ramos.
Enrique, in remarks highlighted by Le Parisien, said, 'Perhaps luck is why we have often prevailed in penalties, but goalkeepers everywhere worldwide have a wealth of information, and we are a team that blends superb attackers with top-class and mental goalkeepers'.
The Spanish coach added, 'Marseille performed better than us and deserved more, but we fought until end and equalized'.
Enrique praised Ramos as a soldier, ready to play minute by minute, start, or not play at all, with a fighting spirit that pleased team.
When it was 1-1, Marseille were livelier, but we showed we fight like our fans, and this trophy is theirs today.
Enrique closed, 'It was a thrilling, open match; Marseille performed well defensively and offensively, under excellent coach (Di Cherbi).'
