Winter Window Watch: Al Ahli Target Ex-Hilal Winger Khalid Al-Ghannam

Transfer News
Al Ahli Jeddah has set its sights on the former Al Hilal winger to sign him in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Saudi outlet Al-Riyadiyah reports that Al Ahli, alongside Al-Qadisiyah, want to sign Khalid Al-Ghannam, Ettifaq's winger, on a permanent deal in the upcoming winter mercato after being impressed by his form this season.
Al-Ghannam has appeared in 9 games for Ettifaq this season, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.
The paper notes Ettifaq would rather keep him until at least season's end, given his contract runs to 2028.
But his contract includes a 46 million riyals release clause, allowing any club to trigger it and land him directly, without Ettifaq's consent.
Final decisions are expected in the coming weeks, whether he stays with Ettifaq or moves to Al Ahli or Al Qadsiah.
Note that Khalid Al-Ghannam spent last season on loan at Al Hilal, playing 16 matches, including one in the 2025 Club World Cup, but scoring only one goal.
Analysts note a deal would hinge on Ettifaq's willingness to part with a winger who already contributed four goals and two assists this season.
For fans, it's a familiar plot: a former rival could swap shirts as the winter window brings a twist. Sniper punchline: Even the snow signs contracts this winter.
