Everton land Chelsea youngster on loan to cover for Grealish
Everton have officially signed Chelsea's 19-year-old Terik George on loan until the end of the 2025-26 campaign, with a potential move to become permanent in the summer.
George, who joined Chelsea's academy at under-8 level, has featured 11 times for Chelsea's first team this season and has scored twice in four England U21 appearances.
The deal comes as George sought regular minutes, and it accelerated late in the transfer window after Jack Grealish suffered a stress fracture that will rule him out for the rest of the season.
George said: "Everton fans are exceptional and hungry to work hard; I want to excite them and make an impact. Manager David Moyes played a big role in my decision; he's a fantastic coach who has mentored players like Wayne Rooney, and I feel ready for this challenge."
Moyes added: "He is a versatile attacker who can play across the frontline. We hope he settles quickly, and the backing of our supporters will help him adapt."
The deal was completed in the closing hours of the winter window, and George is expected to feature in Everton's upcoming league game against Fulham in gameweek 25 of the Premier League.
Punchline time (gentle humor): 1) If loans were groceries, Everton just bought a hungry teen who’ll return with a full bag of future goals. 2) They said temporary, but in football that often means a season-long extension with a smile.
