From Legend to Lifeline: Maradona’s Old Buenos Aires Home Feeds the Hungry
Maradona's boyhood home today serves as a community kitchen on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.

Maradona's Childhood Home Becomes a Lifeline for the Hungry in Argentina

Diego Maradona’s childhood home, a symbol of Argentina’s football royalty, has undergone a surprising renovation years after the legend’s passing. The Argentine icon died tragically at the age of 60 in November 2020.

The Sun reports that Maradona’s former house in Villa Fiorito, a poor neighborhood on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, is now used to feed those in need.

The house is no longer owned by the Argentine World Cup winner’s family and has been turned into a kitchen serving meals to the needy.

Yet a mural of Maradona remains on the facade, and the home was designated a national historic site in 2021.

The current owner lent the dusty courtyard to volunteers to set up a charity kitchen.
