Matchday Drama in Jeddah
The Serbian goalkeeper Bradar Raikovic of Al-Ittihad is not having his best season in the Roshn Saudi League. He has produced a string of blunders that have teammates and fans wincing. His latest miscue came in the Jeddah derby against Al-Ahli.
Al-Ahli edged Al-Ittihad 3-1 on Friday at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah, a marquee fixture on the 25th matchday of Roshn.
Raikovic's Blunders: A Roshn Saudi League Saga
Al-Ahli's third goal was scored by Firas Al-Breikan in the 84th minute after a catastrophic error by Raikovic, who failed to control the ball in the penalty area, letting the Saudi forward pounce and finish.
That error was not Raikovic's first this Roshn season, as the Serbian keeper has produced a string of costly mistakes.
In a similar fashion, his error helped Al-Khaleej score during a 4-4 draw on November 1 in Roshn Round 7.
Raikovic has also been sent off twice this season in matches against Al-Fateh and Al-Ettifaq.
Across 31 games, he kept a clean sheet in only 9, while conceding 32 goals, more than a goal per game.
That result keeps Al-Ittihad lingering in the league standings, while raising questions about Raikovic's future with the club, as coaches weigh whether his performances are sustainable in big matches.

Punchline 1: If Raikovic keeps this up, the ball will start charging him rent for all the time it spends in the box.
Punchline 2: Maybe the defense needs braces after another Raikovic blunder—stronger than a half-time coffee.
