Kuwait Elevates Its Esports Scene with The Base Expo
The Kuwaiti Electronic Sports Club announced it will oversee The Base, the electronic sports expo organized by Zone, set to take place on February 5th to 7th at the Exhibition Grounds, and slated to become an annual event.
This supervision comes as Kuwait's General Sports Authority and the Kuwait Olympic Committee grant formal accreditation, forming part of an ambitious 2026 strategy to organize the eSports sector and meaningfully serve both professionals and amateurs across the region and beyond.
The club's president, Abdullah M. Al Ali, said that the strategic partnership with Zone and approval to supervise The Base reflects the club's direction toward supporting distinctive initiatives that contribute to developing Kuwait's eSports ecosystem.
Al Ali also noted that the expo will host accompanying electronic championships and competitive events across its three days, with wide participation from players and support from several strategic sponsors.
Moreover, the club is preparing to host the Arab Electronic Football Championship with broad participation, backed by the Minister of Information and Culture and the Minister of Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, and by the acting DG of the General Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah, promising an event worthy of Kuwait.
The eSports industry is growing rapidly worldwide, expanding its player base and demand, making it one of the most prominent modern sports sectors.
Overall, the initiative marks a bold move to grow Kuwait's eSports scene, aligning with global trends.
